Ashrama Activities : Usual Worship and Spiritual Discourses
Daily service and worship of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna was conducted in the temple. Ramanam Sankirtan was conducted on every Ekadashi day, birthday of Swami Brahmananda and Ramanavami. Tithi puja (Birthday) of Sri Ramakrishna Dev, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda were celebrated with special puja, discourses by distinguished speakers, devotional music performances, and Prasad distribution to the large number of assembled devotees. Sri Ramakrishna birthday was also celebrated in the adopted villages of this Ashrama. Discourses in connection with birthdays of other Saints, religious leaders and celebrations like Saraswati Puja, Vishwarkarma Puja, Karma Festival and Christmas Eve were observed. Special puja on Maha Durgastami day was also performed and prasad was distributed. Regular discourses on Sri Ramakrishna Kathamrita and Srimad Bhagavad Gita in the evening of every Saturday and Sunday repectively were conducted in the Ashrama. Discourses were held regularly in other locations of the city. Rev. Secretary Maharaj and other monastic members on invitation attended the functions organized outside the Ashrama. A total no. of 137 discourses, meeting, Classes and lectures (all discourses held hybrid mode) were held .
National Youth Day Celebration: Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Morabadi, Ranchi organised a whole-day celebration of National Youth Day on 12 Jan 2025- the Birthday of Swami Vivekananda. The celebration was started by garlanding the statue of Swami Vivekananda in University campus followed by the chanting and flower offering by monks of Ashrama and other staff members of the University. A rally was also conducted after the garlanding.A separate programme was conducted at Swami Vivekananda Sarovar, Ranchi where Garlanding of Swami Vivekananda Statue was done by Swami Bhaveshananda, Secretary of this Ashrama, Swami Antarananda, Asst. secretary of this Ashrama, Smt. Mahua Maji, Hon’ble M. P.and other dignitaries.
Different programmes were organized at Divyayan and different Akhandananda Shiksha & Sanskar Kendras by teachers, students and local people at different villages of Ranchi, Khunti and Ramgarh districts of Jharkhand.
In the evening, prize distribution ceremony for State Winners of Annual Competition 2024-25 was organized in Ashrama auditorium, where Sri Santosh Kumar Ganwar Hon’ble Governor of Jharkhand attended as the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries, School Children, Teachers & general public attended the programme. The programme was also made live through YouTube to all participants of Annual Competition.
About 3709 participants attended in different programmes organised at different places physically. Good press coverage was observed on the next day in almost all
local newspapers of Jharkhand.
100 Day Count Down Programme for International Yoga Day
The 44th day of the “100 Days Countdown to International Day of Yoga 2025” was celebrated with great enthusiasm and mass participationunder the sponsorship of Morarji Desai National Institute for Yoga(MDNIY), New Delhi. Themed “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” the event emphasized the importance of yoga in promoting holistic well-being, environmental awareness, and a harmonious way of living.
The main programme was held at Amar Shaheed Neelambar-Pitambar Park, Morabadi, Ranchi. The chief guest of the occasion was Hon’ble Justice Anubha Rawat Choudhary, Jharkhand High Court and the guest speaker was Dr. Prabhat Kumar, Civil Surgeon, Ranchi. This early morning session witnessed vibrant public engagement as participants performed a curated set of yoga asanas (Protocol Yoga) and breathing practices in the serene backdrop of nature. The dignitaries emphasized the preventive and restorative power of yoga in everyday life.
The afternoon seminar held at Ashrama Auditorium brought together healthcare professionals, educationists, and yoga practitioners. Eminent speakers shared insights on the intersection of yoga, physical health, and mental well-being. The discussions also addressed the growing relevance of yoga in addressing lifestyle-related diseases and in fostering emotional resilience in society.
As in previous years, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Morabadi, Ranchi, observed the International Day of Yoga 2025 with enthusiasm and dedication across multiple venues. The theme declared by the Government of India for this year was “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.”
Morning Session: Mass Yoga Practice
The celebration began at 6:30 a.m. with participation in the Yoga Sangam organized by the Government of India. At the Subodhananda Hall of Ashrama, around 75 yoga practitioners gathered for a guided yoga protocol session. Simultaneously, nearly 1863 participants joined in yoga practices across 36 associated centers of the Ashrama in Ranchi and Khunti districts.

Second Session: Workshop on “Yog Yukt Jharkhand, Rog Mukt Jharkhand”
The second session took place in the afternoon at the Ashrama Auditorium, centered on the theme “Yog Yukt Jharkhand, Rog Mukt Jharkhand” under the broader initiative “Har Angan Yog” (Yoga in Every Courtyard). The session commenced at 3:00 p.m. with Vedic chanting and ceremonial lamp lighting.
Distinguished Guests: Chief Guest: Mr. Ranjit Dutta, Executive Director, Prabhat Khabar, Chairperson: Swami Bhaveshananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Welcome Address: Delivered by Swami Antarananda, Assistant Secretary, emphasizing yoga as a union of body, mind, and spirit, and a science-based discipline. Keynote Speaker: Mr. R. R. Panigrahi, a renowned yoga practitioner, highlighted yoga’s role in alleviating psychological stress and improving mental health. A 7-minute yoga break session was also conducted by the Ashrama’s yoga instructor, Mr. Pritam Banik.
Mr. Ranjit Dutta, in his address, lauded the Ashrama’s ongoing contributions to holistic development and emphasized incorporating yoga into daily routines to combat rising mental stress. In his presidential address, Swami Bhaveshananda elaborated on the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health” and underscored the ideal of “VasudhaivaKutumbakam” — the world as one family. He urged everyone to live by Swami Vivekananda’s motto: “AtmanoMokshartham Jagat Hitaya Cha” (For one’s own liberation and for the welfare of the world) The workshop witnessed participation from around 300 attendees, including Ashrama staff, educators from Kendriya Vidyalaya and RKMVERI, scientists, and monastic members. Stage proceedings were anchored by Dr. Anuradha Wats.
Guru Purnima
Guru Purnima Day was celebrated on 21st July, 2024 in which Revered Swami Nirmalananda, Acharya, Mahrshi Mehi Ashrama, Ranchi was the Chief Guest. Under this programme, a special spiritual retreat was conducted with full devotion and due solemnity.vedic chanting, hymns, devotional songs, reading from the scriptures, Japam and meditation, discourse on Ramakrishna Katha Amrita was conducted for the participating devotees. It was attended by around 350 (Male-145, Female – 205) devotees.
Akhanda Ramacharit Manas Path was organisedon the occasion of Rama Navami from 12 to 13 April, 2025, 4PM for 24 hours. The path was started and concluded with special puja. Devotees and Volunteers actively participated in the programme. Children of GAP also actively participated in the said Ramacharit Manas Path
Srimad Bhagwat Path
A 5-day long SrimadBhawat Path was organised from 6thto 10 September 2024. During these 5 days, Swami Tanmahimananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Simla read out Srimad Bhagwat and explained in simple and detailed manner. Around 500 people attended the programme in these five days.
Vishwakarma Puja : Vishwakarma puja was celebrated in Workshop unit of Divyayan on 17 September 2024. The puja was performed with all due rituals and hymns. It was attended by the monks of the Ashrama, staff members, scientists and trainees of Divyayan. At the end of the puja all staff members and trainees partook prasad.
National Festivals : National festivals like Independence Day and Republic Day was celebrated in the Divyayan Campus on 15th of August and 26th of January respectively.
Karma Puja : Karma puja one of the festivals of tribals of Jharkhand was celebrated with due solemnity on 14th September 2024. The festival was observed in Divyayan premises after sandhya aarati with a special puja by offering grains, fruits, and agricultural produce to the Karam tree. The festival came alive with traditional music and rhythmic dances by Divyayan Trainees and RKMVERI students. It was attended by Monks, staff members, family of staff members, trainees and student. At the end of the programme, prasad was distributed among all participants.
Govardhan Puja : Govardhan puja was celebrated the day after Diwali at Divyayan Dairy. A Special puja of Lord Krishna was organised. Cows of the dairy were fed with laddu at the end of the puja. Dairy staff members and others attended the puja and all partook prasad at the end of the puja.
The Annual Celebration 2025 of Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Morabadi, Ranchi, was held with immense spiritual fervor and cultural vibrancy over three days from 31st May to 2nd June. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from devotees, students, faculty, guests, and well-wishers, encapsulating the ideals of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, and Swami Vivekananda.
Inaugural Ceremony
The celebration commenced with an inaugural session graced by Srimat Swami Satyadevananda Ji Maharaj, Secretary, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Mumbai. The session was further dignified by the presence of Swami Satsangananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission T.B. Sanatorium, Tupudana, Ranchi, and Sri Suresh Narayan Jha, Member, Managing Committee, RKMA, Morabadi. The spirit of devotion and unity set the tone for the subsequent days.
Day 1 – Sri Ramakrishna Day (31st May 2025)
- Theme: “Spiritual Renaissance in India and Sri Ramakrishna“
- A public meeting was held, presided over by Swami Satyadevananda Ji Maharaj.
- Swami Satsangananda Ji delivered an insightful address on the day’s theme.
- The evening unfolded with a soulful cultural programme performed by staff, students, and devotees, leaving a heartfelt impression on the audience.
Day 2 – Sri Maa Sarada Devi Day (1st June 2025)
- Theme: “Role of Maa Sarada in Awakening of Indian Women“
- The public meeting was chaired by Swami Satyadevananda Ji Maharaj.
- Eminent speakers included:
- Devjani Roy, Nirmala College, Ranchi
- Sri Sukumar Mukherjee, Convener, Bhavaprachar Parishad (Bihar & Jharkhand)
- Swami Antarananda ji Maharaj, Asst. Secretary, RKMA Morabadi
- The event saw participation from over 200 attendees, including RKMVERI students, DIVYAYAN trainees, and community members.

Day 3 – Swami Vivekananda Day (2nd June 2025)
- Theme: “World Guru India in the Light of Swami Vivekananda’s Thoughts“
Morning Session:
- Chief Guest: Sri Goplajee Tiwari, Additional Secretary, Department of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperative, Govt. of Jharkhand
- Students of RKMVERI presented:
- Short speeches
- A skit on Swami Vivekananda’s life
- Songs and a traditional Nagpuri folk dance
- The session concluded with prize distribution for RKMVERI’s Annual Sports Meet.
Afternoon Session:
- A Youth Awareness and Development Programme was organized, presided by Swami Satyadevananda Ji Maharaj.
- Guest Speaker: Dr. Jeganathan Chockalingam, Vice Chancellor, Sarla Birla University, Ranchi.
- Students contributed with thoughtful speeches and group songs.
Closing Highlight:
- A mesmerizingFolk Song and Dance performance by artists from Nagpuri Art and Culture, Khunti provided a fitting cultural finale to the celebration.
Conclusion
The Annual Celebration 2025 successfully showcased the spiritual, educational, and cultural ethos of Ramakrishna Mission. With a blend of thought-provoking discourses and vibrant performances, the event reaffirmed the Mission’s commitment to holistic human development and national awakening in the light of its guiding ideals.
