Ashrama Activities : Usual Worship and Spiritual Discourses

Daily service and worship of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna was conducted in the temple. Ramanam Sankirtan was conducted on every Ekadashi day, birthday of Swami Brahmananda and Ramanavami. Tithi puja (Birthday) of Sri Ramakrishna Dev, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda were celebrated with special puja, discourses by distinguished speakers, devotional music performances, and Prasad distribution to the large number of assembled devotees. Sri Ramakrishna birthday was also celebrated in the adopted villages of this Ashrama. Discourses in connection with birthdays of other Saints, religious leaders and celebrations like Saraswati Puja, Vishwarkarma Puja, Karma Festival and Christmas Eve were observed. Special puja on Maha Durgastami day was also performed and prasad was distributed. Regular discourses on Sri Ramakrishna Kathamrita and Srimad Bhagavad Gita in the evening of every Saturday and Sunday repectively were conducted in the Ashrama. Discourses were held regularly in other locations of the city. Rev. Secretary Maharaj and other monastic members on invitation attended the functions organized outside the Ashrama. A total no. of 137 discourses, meeting, Classes and lectures (all discourses held hybrid mode) were held .

National Youth Day Celebration: Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Morabadi, Ranchi organised a whole-day celebration of National Youth Day on 12 Jan 2025- the Birthday of Swami Vivekananda. The celebration was started by garlanding the statue of Swami Vivekananda in University campus followed by the chanting and flower offering by monks of Ashrama and other staff members of the University. A rally was also conducted after the garlanding.A separate programme was conducted at Swami Vivekananda Sarovar, Ranchi where Garlanding of Swami Vivekananda Statue was done by Swami Bhaveshananda, Secretary of this Ashrama, Swami Antarananda, Asst. secretary of this Ashrama, Smt. Mahua Maji, Hon’ble M. P.and other dignitaries.

Different programmes were organized at Divyayan and different Akhandananda Shiksha & Sanskar Kendras by teachers, students and local people at different villages of Ranchi, Khunti and Ramgarh districts of Jharkhand.

In the evening, prize distribution ceremony for State Winners of Annual Competition 2024-25 was organized in Ashrama auditorium, where Sri Santosh Kumar Ganwar Hon’ble Governor of Jharkhand attended as the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries, School Children, Teachers & general public attended the programme. The programme was also made live through YouTube to all participants of Annual Competition.

About 3709 participants attended in different programmes organised at different places physically. Good press coverage was observed on the next day in almost all
local newspapers of Jharkhand.

International Yoga Day:International Yoga Day was organized at various places in Ranchi on 21 June 2024 under the joint aegis of Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, Morabadi, Ranchi, Divyayan Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute and Indian
Yoga Association, Jharkhand Chapter. The program was formally started at 6:45 am in Kanke Dam Park, Kanke, Ranchi with Vedic chanting in the presence of Ashrama Secretary Swami Bhaveshananda and Principal of Marwari college, Ranchi- Mr. Manoj Kumar.Along with this, the Common Yoga Protocol given by the Government of India was practiced simultaneously at 46 places in Ranchi. At the same time, yoga was practiced at Vivekananda Sarovar, located right in the middle of Ranchi city, in the presence of Swami Sukhmayananda, a monk of the Ashrama, and Mr. Amit Kumar, Administrator of Ranchi Municipal Corporation, as a guest. On this occasion, the Secretary of the Ashrama emphasizing the usefulness of yoga, said that people of all age groups can do it and he called upon everyone to do yoga. While the administrator, wishing Happy Yoga Day, appealed to the people to practice yoga. On this occasion, Sharp Sight Eye Hospital, Lalpur, Ranchi arranged breakfast for participants. The total number of yoga practitioners present at all the places was about
2800.

The afternoon session was held in the Ashrama Auditorium. This special program was based on ‘Yoga for self and society’.300 people including Chief Guest Shri Achyut Ghatak, Director, C.M.P.D.I.L., Special Guest Shri Jagannath Chakravarty attended the program.

The program was formally started by lighting the lamp with Vedic chanting. Swamiji’s Vaani Paath and Swadesh Mantra path were done. Swami Antarananda ji, Asst.-Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, while welcoming the guests said that yoga does not mean only physical exercise but it
is a sadhana which keeps us completely balanced. He inspired everyone to make yoga as part of life style.

To give detailed information on the subject, Yoga Sadhika Ms. Pragya Bharti made everyone aware of the importance of yoga for the development of self as well as society. She called yoga the best way to balance the mind and brain. She said that we can cooperate in the development of society by purifying our conscience through yoga.

Chief guest, Shri Achyut Ghatak ji, while remembering Swami ji, said that Swami Vivekanand ji was the only great man in this world who had seen the form of Brahma. He especially highlighted the nation building through Swamiji’s words and character building. He described yoga as a means of achieving success. Swami Bhaveshananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, in his presidential speech, especially highlighted the aim of the ashram ‘AtmanoMokshartham, JagatHitaya Cha’ i.e. ‘the welfare of the world along with self-salvation’. He said that Swami Vivekanand ji is the first person from India who established Indian yoga in western countries. Defining yoga, he said that the union of mind is yoga. Willpower and self-confidence develop with the restraint of mind, through which we can develop the society.

In the end, all those who passed in the various state-level yoga competitions going on for 30 days were awarded. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri Amit Kumar ji, who is the Secretary of Indian Yoga Association, Jharkhand Chapter. The program was conducted by psychologist Dr. Anuradha Wats.

Guru Purnima

Guru Purnima Day was celebrated on 21st July, 2024 in which Revered Swami Nirmalananda, Acharya, Mahrshi Mehi Ashrama, Ranchi was the Chief Guest. Under this programme,  a special spiritual retreat was conducted with full devotion and due solemnity.vedic chanting, hymns, devotional songs, reading from the scriptures, Japam and meditation, discourse on Ramakrishna Katha Amrita was conducted for the participating devotees.  It was attended by around 350 (Male-145, Female – 205) devotees.

Akhanda Ramcharit Manas Path: A Special Ramacharit Manas Path was organised on the occasion of Ramanavami from 12th April to 13th April 2025 The path was started and concluded with special puja. Devotees and Volunteers actively participated in the programme. Children of GAP also actively participated in the said Ramacharit Manas Path.

Srimad Bhagwat Path

A 5-day long SrimadBhawat Path was organised from 6thto 10 September 2024. During these 5 days, Swami Tanmahimananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Simla read out Srimad Bhagwat and explained in simple and detailed manner. Around 500 people attended the programme in these five days.

Puja and Celebrations

Vishwakarma Puja : Vishwakarma puja was celebrated in Workshop unit of Divyayan on 17 September 2024. The puja was performed with all due rituals and hymns. It was attended by the monks of the Ashrama, staff members, scientists and trainees of Divyayan. At the end of the puja all staff members and trainees partook prasad.

National Festivals : National festivals like Independence Day and Republic Day was celebrated in the Divyayan Campus on 15th of August and 26th of January respectively.

Karma Puja : Karma puja one of the festivals of tribals of Jharkhand was celebrated with due solemnity on 14th September 2024. The festival was observed in Divyayan premises after sandhya aarati with a special puja by offering grains, fruits, and agricultural produce to the Karam tree. The festival came alive with traditional music and rhythmic dances by Divyayan Trainees and RKMVERI students. It was attended by Monks, staff members, family of staff members, trainees and student. At the end of the programme, prasad was distributed among all participants.

Govardhan Puja : Govardhan puja was celebrated the day after Diwali at Divyayan Dairy. A Special puja of Lord Krishna was organised. Cows of the dairy were fed with laddu at the end of the puja. Dairy staff members and others attended the puja and all partook prasad at the end of the puja.
