The 29th Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) Meeting of DivyayanKrishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Ranchi was held on 8th May 2025 with the objective of reviewing the center’s strategic direction, strengthening community-oriented research, and enhancing the efficacy of farmer outreach initiatives.
The meeting was honored by the presence of the following key dignitaries:
- Mr. Vikash Kumar, Director, SAMETI Jharkhand (Chief Guest)
- Dr. Amarendra Singh, Principal Scientist
- Dr. D.V. Singh, Principal Scientist
- Dr. Monorbullah, Principal Scientist
- Swami Bhaveshanand Ji Maharaj, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, Morabadi, Ranchi
- Dr. R.S. Pan, Principal Scientist, ICAR, Palandu
In his keynote address, Mr. Vikash Kumar emphasized the importance of promoting innovation and leveraging emerging technologies for improving farm productivity and rural livelihoods. He called on scientists, officials, and farmers to adopt adaptive strategies for sustainable development.
Swami Bhaveshanand Ji Maharaj, in his address, reiterated the moral responsibility of Krishi Vigyan Kendra to empower farmers by disseminating accurate and practical technical knowledge to help them make informed decisions.
Dr. D.V. Singh highlighted the need to prioritize issues such as:
- Women’s empowerment in agriculture
- Employment-oriented training for rural youth
- Combating malnutrition through community-based initiatives
- Promoting farming as a viable and dignified profession
Dr. R.S. Pan urged greater collaboration for the large-scale adoption of disease-resistant vegetable varieties to ensure sustainable and resilient cropping systems.

- Day-in-Charge, Doordarshan Centre, Ranchi
- District-level officers from the Departments of Agriculture, Horticulture, Food, and Animal Husbandry
- Representatives from NABARD, JSLPS, JTDS, and other developmental agencies
The SAC meeting concluded with an interactive session and the formulation of actionable recommendations for enhancing the impact of KVK’s training and extension activities.
