National Youth Day was celebrated by the Ashrama on 12 Jan 2009 to commemorate the Birth day of  the universally honoured Hindu Monk of India Revered Swami Vivekananda. The celebration was started at 9.30 AM by garlanding the statue of swamiji at Mecon square by Revered Secretary Maharaj, Dr. A.A. Khan, Vice Chancellor, Ranchi University, Sri M.K. Mondal, Chief Election Commissioner, Jharkhand, Sri M.K. Deshmukh, Director, MECON and other eminent persons present during the occasion. After garlanding of the statue a public meeting was organized on the lawn of Hotel Ranchi Ashok where students from different schools of Ranchi joined to celebrate the occasion.

 

While addressing the gathering Dr. A. A. Khan, Vice Chancellor, Ranchi University, Ranchi said “Patience and purity of heart is required to achieve anything  in this world”. In course of speaking about the state of the modern world and the place of India in it he said, “Whenever you find a place of peace in this world you will find it in India”. He also said, “I do not want to see India as a super power by virtue of technologically or scientific development but I would rather happy to see it as a super power in spreading peace in the world”.

 

M.K. Deshmukhji, Director Mecon said the persons like Swami Vivekananda takes birth only in the land of YOGA i.e. India. He added that Swamiji had a great faith on the youth of India and he had asked every youth to be a Karma Yogi.  He said we not only need the knowledge but also a good physique to serve the society in a integrated way.

 

While addressing the students .Revered Swami Shashankananda, Secretary of the Ashrma said everybody is bestowed with immense power  by the GOD. We only need proper education to recognise this inherent power within us. He urged the students to be brave and take all the responsibility on their shoulder for the future of India. One should not think himself weak because this thought makes him weak. He asked the students to have faith on themselves and serve the scoiety .
