29th Ex-trainees Sammelan |
|
Like every year an ex-trainees Sammelan was held in Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Morabadi, Ranchi on 6th and 7th October 2009. The objective of the Sammelan is to emulate the achievements or failures of the ex-trainees and also to chalk out the future plans, eliminating the causes of failure and adopting the measures of success. This year the main theme for discussion in Sammelan was the “Role of Divyayan training in Development of villages”.
The conference started at 9.20 a.m. on 6th October 2009.
(i) Inaugural Session: The conference started with the lighting of lamp by Swami Shashankanandaji Maharaj, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Morabadi. The formal inauguration of conference was done by Sri Deepak Singh, Additional Secretary Agriculture. Sri Deepak Singh appreciated Divyayan training programmes and suggested the ex-trainees to spread the knowledge and skill learnt by them in their villages. Swami Shashankanandaji Maharaj said that Divyayan is providing such type of trainings since last 40 years.
(ii) Presentation of success stories by ex-trainees: Some of the ex-trainees presented their success stories in the inaugural session of the conference. A discussion on their future plans and present activities was done and their efforts to be self-dependent were appreciated by all.
Group Discussion Success stories: A group discussion was organized in 2nd half of the first day of conference. The participants were divided in five groups and discussions on following topics were done with the help of faculty members and field staffs. The topics were as :
Ä Measures for draught management. Ä Agriculture and Agri-based industries. Ä Complete utilization of human resource. Ä Role of ex-trainees in rural development. Ä Role of organization in rural development. After discussion, a report was presented by each group leader before all and suggestions regarding the topic were collected to make a future plan for rural development. The Chief Guest in this session was Sri Robert Minz, Deputy Development Commissioner, Ranchi.
Technical Session:
On 7th October 2009, 2nd day of conference a technical session was organized to solve the problems of farmers and provide them the latest technologies of Agriculture and other allied departments.
This session was presided over by Dr. Shivendu Kumar, Principal Scientist, HARP Palandu and Dr. B. N. Singh, Director Research, B.A.U., Dr. S. Karmkar, Sr. Scientist (Agronomy) B.A.U., Dr. Milan Chakraborty (Entomology) B.A.U. also attended the programmes delivered lectures and solved the problems raised by farmers ex-trainees were also provided with the technologies of sericulture by two scientists Sri Manoj Sinha and Dr. Virendra Kumar from Central Tasar Research Institute, Nagri. Shri A. K. Basu Ex-chief Secretary Govt. of Jharkhand and Mrs. Basu Income Tax Commissioner also graced the occasion.
Concluding Session
It was held in 2nd half of 7th October 2009 Dr. D. K. Srivastava, Special Secretary, Rural Development was Chief Guest of this session. Swami Shashankanandaji Maharaj presided over the session.
Dr. Srivastava informed the ex-trainees about the on-going programmes of government and suggested the ex-trainees to perform in a best way with broader objectives. He also appreciated the income generating activities of ex-trainees in villages and their self confidence.
The conference was concluded with the next year’s development programmes planning after discussion with villagers, faculty members and field staff. The plan was approved by Swami Shashankanandaji Maharaj. He emphasized throughout the programme on self-dependency with Agriculture and related activities for the development of villages. He also suggested to make the village rural organization stronger.
The total ex-trainees who participated in programme were 119. Besides this 34 general and 67 special trainees also participated in the programme. |
