Title of on-farm trials : Supplementation of minerals and vitamins to feed for increasing milk yield in the dairy cattle. Problem diagnose : Low milk yield in milk cow due to no supplementation of minerals and vitamins in their feed. This reduces the milk yield to an extent of 30%. Details of technologies selected for assessment/refinement T1 – Farmers practice – Grazing milch cows with very less concentrate feed- supplement T2 – Stall feeding with concentrate feed. T3– T2 + minerals and vitamins (include all major elements and trace elements) No. of Trials : 10 Performance of the Technology with performance indicators T1 – 5.94 kg/cow T2– 6.09 kg/cow T3– 6.64 kg/cow Final Recommendation for micro level situation : Feeding of concentrate with minerals and vitamins gives very good result in respect of milk yield and reproductive performance, therefore it may be recommended for the farmers to increase milk yield and other performances of the animals Constraints identified and feed back for research : : Shortage of grains and mill-by-products : Marketing problem for milk and milk products : Poor availability of feed ingredients in local markets and surrounding area Feedback from the farmer : : Farmers are showing very much interest to adopt such type of feeding schedule in dairy animals : Poor availability of feed ingredients in local market : Transportation problem |
