Like every every year, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Divyayan Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ranchi organised a regional Kisan Mela (Block Level Farmers’ Fair) at villageMaliyada under Murhu Block of Khunti district on 07 January 2017. The aim and objective of this Kisan Mela was to create awareness about the latest technologies in the field of Agriculture and Allied trades among the farmers as well as to inform them about assistance being provided to small and marginal farmers under various schemes of state and central govt. for the development of agricultural sector. The theme of the mela was Organic Farming-Successful Farmer-Prosperous Nation.
The mela was inaugurated by Revered Swami Bhaveshananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Morabadi, Ranchi in the gracious presence of Sri Ganesh Toppo, Asst. General Manager, Bank of India, Regional Office, Ranchi and Dr. Ajeet Singh, Senior Scientist along with other scientists of this KVK.
The mela had different stalls for different agricultural produce,agricultural equipment, cottage industry, Self Help Groups, Books and literature, food processing, animal husbandry etc.
46 farmers received first prize for the best produce in agronomical and horticultural crop and 46 farmers received second prize in the same category. 10 participants received prize in cottage industry category and 5 participants received consultation prizes.
