Divyayan Krishi Vigyan Kendra has been once again awarded as the best KVK(Krishi Vigyan Kendra) of the country by the famous Outlook Group on 24th February, 2020, in the ICAR, NASC Complex, New Delhi. The award was given on the occasion of ‘Outlook Agriculture Enclave’ organized by Outlook Group.
The award was received by Swami Bhaveshananda, Secretary of this Ashrama and Dr. Ajeet Kumar Singh, Senior Scientist on behalf of Divyayan KVK from Sri Narendra Singh Tomar, Hon’ble Minister of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, Govt. of Jharkhand in the gracious presence of Hon’ble Agriculture Ministers of three state viz. Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Hariyana.
The jury of the Award consisted of Sri Sanjay Agarwal, Central Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, GOI, Dr. T Haqu, Ex-Chairman, Commission for Agriculture Cost and Prices; Sri Sandeep Nayak, Managing Director, National Corporation for Cooperative Development; Sri. R. S. Sodhi, Managing Director, Gujrat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd; Dr. A. K. Singh, Dy. Director General, ICAR, New Delhi; Sri Harveer Singh, Editor, Outlook.
The award was given on the basis of exemplary and outstanding work done by Divyayan KVK in the field of
- Organic cultivation (Two Cluster of Villages in Angara Block have been developed as Organic Cluster and Development of Dhurleta Village as the First Organic village of Jharkhand).
- Promotion of indigenous scented rice variety (Indigenous scented variety of Jharkhand like Bhutku, Tulsi Mukul etc. are now organically by around 800 farmers of Ranchi and its adjoining Districts after the intervention of Divyayan KVK. The KVK is trying its best, so that farmers would get fair price of their product by marketing their products.
- To make goatery as profitable enterprise With the sponsorship of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), this programme targeted at 233 SHG women of Angara Block under Ranchi District to empower them as smart Agripreneures. Under this programme 233 women were provided training on goatery in 7 batches so that they can adopt goatery as profitable livelihood option. As a result the trained rural women started to increase the unit size ,which led to develop them as entrepreneurs and ultimately helped to achieve nutritional security in rural areas. Later on these groups will be developed into producer groups. A model demonstration farm was established to support this activity.
It may kindly be noted that Divyayan KVK has already been awarded twice as a Best Krishi Vigyan Kendra in National Level and once in Zonal Level by Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi.
